Physicians from the Iowa City Heart Center responded to requests from Cedar Rapids area patients and referring physicians to add local heart services like those offered in Iowa City (see "Iowa City Heart Center P.C." on this website). A new facility was opened in 2007 on Blair Ferry Road (between 1-380 and Edgewood), with space for four providers plus nationally certified nuclear and ultrasound services.
Dr . Cam Campbell, founder of the Iowa City Heart Center, regularly sees patients in both the Iowa City and the Cedar Rapids offices and serves as medical director of the new Cedar Rapids Heart Center. Two cardiologists and a nurse practitioner were recruited to work at the Cedar Rapids office (Drs . Henry Riter and Nick Hodgman, plus Jennifer Lee, NP), with Drs . Linda Lee, Rick Ammar, Nick Walker, and James Hopson, plus nurse practitioner Ann Aschoff adding additional and specialized services. It is expected that two more cardiologists will be added to live and work in the Cedar Rapids area.
All Cedar Rapids Heart Center cardiologists have privileges at Mercy Medical Center and St Luke's Hospital, providing 24/7 call coverage to both emergency departments.
Unique to the Cedar Rapids Heart Center is our offer to see any patient within two business days. This service guarantee reflects our appreciation for the value of your time, and our commitment to providing great and convenient heart services.
